Welcome Beer Friend!
Here’s what it’s all about…
Thanks for stopping by! There are a lot of beer blogs out there and we really appreciate you taking the time to stop in. This whole debacle started back in 2014 with a thought and a beer. I – Mike – the original Beerrater started this blog to document my misadventures while discovering the world of craft beer. Since then this site has grown into a whole other beast. While popularity and tastes change one thing has not – why I’m here. If you’re interested in finding out more about how I break down a beer check out the How I-Rate page.
I’m here to offer an unfiltered view on the world of craft beer. In this exciting industry, there are too many bloggers, reviewers, and people in general, talking about beer like it’s listed in the J. Peterman catalog. Beer drinking is subjective. If you like what you’re drinking right now, that is good enough for me. I’m here to share experiences, beer, and things that I like about both. There’s no wrong way to do this. I might give you a slanted look if you’re trying to suggest some kind of macro brew that throws all their profit into some millionaire’s slush fund. But at the end of the day, if you’re happy, we’re happy. That’s what we’re all about.
Meet The Beerrater
Profile: Mike is the one who started this whole mess. He’s a long time beer lover and has a long history drinking beer and making jokes. On his time away from the blog he is often found at his day job doing all kinds of crazy marketing experiments. He can often be found scoping out the various tasting rooms or walking the streets looking for a new dog to pet.
Preferred Styles: IPA, ESB, anything with an acronym
Favourite thing about beer: The community, the creativity. Mike will go on forever on how this is small local business, something very close to his heart. If you’re going to open these floodgates with him, buy a pint and clear your schedule.
Special Skills: Reserving seats in crowded bars
